Our desire to expand the Zaneen family to include a natural and earthy Scandinavian aesthetic, resulted in a beautiful partnership with Tunto. Based in Helsinki, Finland, Tunto provides modern bespoke lighting that combines the beauty of organic materials with the latest LED and OLED technology.
The CEO and Designer of Tunto, Mikko Kärkkäinen envisions lighting design as an art form of transforming the natural beauty of wood with the latest technologies in lighting, all while creating a charming ambience. Mikko’s designs for Tunto have received numerous international awards over the years like the German Design Award, Good Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award.

Handmade in Finland, Tunto’s lighting solutions are durable and provide excellent light characteristics, luminosity, color temperature, along with the multiple choices of materials and finishes.
In 2019, Tunto’s innovative Ballon pendant light received “A Special Mention” in lighting for the category “excellent product design” within the German Design Awards. This signature product represents a timeless tribute to old design classics; combining organic materials with premium LED technology.
Ballon is a dynamic wood lamp design with its use of disc panels and LED light sources that are situated at various positions and angles. The organic structure is composed of a variety of shapes and sizes to suit different spaces.
We are proud to offer luminaires that are made with natural, sustainable wood – not laminate or various other wood-like materials. Some of the available finishes include Natural Oak, Natural Walnut, and Ash White Oil Waxed, as seen below.
In addition to its insulating and acoustic benefits, the use of wood brings warmth and vividness to a space. The Woodlin series is made of elegant linear profiles that merge functional lighting with organic materials. It is a sophisticated light that can be used in various applications.
Swan is an elegant and smooth collection of wood linear lights available in suspension, portable and surface applications. The family includes single pendants known as Swan, or multiple pendants beautifully named Swan Wing.
Swan Wing is defined as ‘elegance in the air’ for the illusion of floating swan wings. The wood fixture is offered in multiple wood finishes, with accent color pieces for the non-illuminated elements in extended color options.
