Starbucks Headquarters

The Starbucks Headquarters in Seattle, Washington went under a transformative renovation in 2019, and we were delighted to have the Studio Zaneen Metropolis collection included in the remodel. Represented by SeaTac Lighting & Controls and specified by NBBJ, the Metropolis pendant system light was selected as the ideal piece for the space, and specifically the staircase of the three-story building. Throughout the office there is a clear nod to an industrial design style by way of steel frames, cement pillars, and visible duct work. This is complimented by textured materials including hardwood floors, burlap rugs, and rope screen features. The Metropolis suspension fixtures balance these elements perfectly with its tube pendants and die-cast aluminum connectors in a bronze finish. NBBJ opted for a mix of design configurations of the Metropolis – three tube pendants per canopy design, and seven – to effortlessly illuminate the staircase with its geometric compositions. The outcome is a beautiful office environment that sparks creativity, collaboration and warmth.
