Join us as we guide you through the process of selecting the perfect lighting fixture for your next dining room project.

Tips + tricks – First and foremost, consider the mood you want to create and how the lighting will complement your decor. Ensure that your chosen fixture provides enough light without causing glare, and follow recommended guidelines for hanging height and spacing to achieve optimal illumination.

For standard eight-foot ceilings, aim for 30 to 36 inches between the top of your table and the bottom of the fixture, adjusting as needed for taller ceilings.

At Zaneen, we understand that every project is unique. That’s why we offer the ability to customize lighting solutions to meet your specific needs. Whether it’s a simple modification to a product in our catalog or the creation of a completely bespoke solution, we have the capability to work with the specs of your project.

Consult with our residential lighting experts to explore the possibilities and find the perfect lighting solution tailored to your project’s requirements.

Play with shapes – Next, consider the shape of your table. Round tables pair well with chandeliers or groupings of pendant lights, while linear fixtures are ideal for rectangular tables, providing uniform illumination across the length of the table.

Linear, square + rectangle tables – When selecting a linear fixture for rectangular tables, proportion is key – ensure the fixture does not exceed 2/3 the length of the table surface. Consider installing multiple pendants or a streamlined monorail system for added versatility.

Round + oval tables – For round or oval dining tables, opt for fixtures that are 50% to 75% the diameter of the table, with 32 to 36 inches of clearance between the fixture and the table surface. Chandeliers or grouped pendants complement the shape of the table, providing a harmonious focal point. To add a touch of sophistication, consider metallic pendant lights that can be adjusted to suit different occasions.

Lighting is a crucial element in any dining room, setting the stage for gatherings and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. By following these tips and considering factors such as scale, proportion, and functionality, you can select the perfect lighting fixtures to enhance your dining experience and make lasting memories with loved ones.
