Introducing the Cassola+Cassola, one of our larger and most celebrated lamps, admired even by design and fashion icons. Its form, featuring two spheres stacked atop one another, reveals the beautiful imperfections of hand-sculpted clay, with visible bends and hardmarks that add character and depth.
The Cassola+Cassola is more than just a lighting piece—it’s a statement. Its oversized lampshade provides a soft, diffused glow that fills a room with warmth, while still offering ample light to brighten any space. The adjustable lampshade tilts and can be customized with or without a fringed edge, allowing for flexibility in both style and function.
Named after the town of Cassola, located near our atelier in Veneto, the lamp carries the essence of its namesake. The town's name, meaning "house alone," evokes the image of a singular home standing in a wooded area—an idea that resonates with the individuality of this lamp. Much like the first house that stood alone in the vastness, turning on the Cassola+Cassola in a room feels like being in the presence of a person. Each lamp, hand-sculpted and unique, embodies the soul of its creator, filling the space not just with light, but with personality and warmth.
The Fondamenta, named after the Venetian term for "foundation," is deeply rooted in the tradition and culture of Venice. This project explores the foundational elements of art—both the physical foundations of Venetian architecture and the cultural foundations that shape an artist's work. It reflects Jenna’s commitment to heritage and craftsmanship while reimagining how modern design can rest on these historical foundations. A key aspect of The Fondamenta Project is its collaborative nature. It offers a platform for other creatives to work alongside Jenna, co-creating custom, bespoke pieces. By opening her process to collaboration, Basso Pietrobon allows artists and designers from various fields to contribute their ideas, making each piece a unique expression of shared creativity. This project fosters a blend of traditions and new perspectives, resulting in custom works that embody both the individuality of each collaborator and the timeless elegance of Venetian craftsmanship.
