Nela is inspired by an industrial shape design, most often found in aluminum or metal. For a more delicate and transitional piece, Nela is made with hand-made wrapped cords. This material is also beneficial for easy maintenance, and fixture weight. Nela is available in two diameter options and fifteen color finish options. The light that Nela projects is sifted between the cords and gently illuminates any type of space.
Like all of the lamps in the cord collection, Nela is produced with a polyester cord made from plastic bottles, some of them collected from the sea. This is part of a sustainability effort called "Oceans Without Plastic" with the goal of reducing the amount of plastic material in our environment, and instead reusing it by incorporating it into products that will have a long and useful life.
